Data Breaches [infographic]

Although I have very limited knowledge of business, big or small, this infographic about data breaches still feels like a very big deal. Data breeches can, and will, affect even us little people with no knowledge of business because we all have information stored and accessible through various businesses and corporations. *cough* Sony Playstation Network *cough* People always assume that just big companies are subject to data breaches, but that is definitely not the case. The ever expanding area of small business is just as susceptible.

Some ways to keep your data secure are to keep secure passwords and firewalls to protect your information and the information of your customers/clients, be sure that your employees are trustworthy and are keeping an eye out for potential leaks or intrusions, and to consult an expert. The expertise of the hacker is definitely growing and the safest way to be protected is to be protected by a professional. Keep your information protected by an insurance plan that will cover losses. That’s a long f*ckin’ infographic. A bit to long. I know infographics are new, but I’ve learned from my recent experience of making them for companies that having ultra-long infographics discourage people from reading them. If your infographic can’t fit legibly (no squinting) on a newspaper than it’s entirely too long.

    Lengthy but very informative data.
