Hunger is a large problem world wide. Putting food on the table isn’t always as simple as it sounds, and when you have hungry mouths to feed it can spiral out of control. Thankfully, companies like Bank of America are trying to help. Supporting hunger relief programs is a top priority for Bank of America. They have been working to end hunger since 2008 with donations and volunteering. They are bringing food to millions of hungry people, helping to relieve the pain and settle the rumbling stomaches.

Bank of America worked to bring 16 million pounds of food, serving 7 million meals. We thank you for all of the hard work.[Via]

Avocados and the Super Bowl [Infographic]

Regardless of which team won or lost yesterday’s big game, one standard product from the produce section was a clear winner: the avocado. Avocados are becoming an increasingly-popular snack for America’s biggest sporting event, and this year is no different from the others.

Today’s infographics come to us from Shape.com and give us an idea of just how much of the green fruit we eat on game day. We as a country ate 1.5 billion pounds of avocados during all of 2012, but during 2013′s Super Bowl alone we will have eaten 79 million pounds, or 5% of 2012′s grand total.

For more information on America’s favorite Super Bowl snack refer to the infographic below. [Via]

Libraries are Forever: E-Books & Print Books Can Coexist [infographic]

Hello lovely peeps! I hope that I catch you at a happy time in your week. WOO FOOTBALL!!! This week’s infographic has a little piece of me in it (like all of them), which is appropriate because it’s my last one *tear*. It’s also kind of a metaphor for the way I hope to go forth in the world and the way in which I long for more individuals to act towards each other. If we could embrace each other’s differences (like the e-book and print book), then the world would be SUCH a better place.

This infographic shows some stats that are helpful and easing to the mind for those of us who are not all about the e-books yet. Although I am all about saving trees, it is true that print books might be the best resource for the young ones trying to master their skills. But, from my point of view, the more e-books, the better! They save the earth!

This infographic should apply to many aspects in our culture—we should be able to coexist! The fact stated at the end of the graphic sums it all up, “Nothing beats a good book”. Have a grand week, y’all and give Diego some love when he comes back! [via]

Love by Numbers: Valentine’s Day [infographic]

How do you plan to spend the day of love with your significant other? I still have no clue! Should I take her to a movie? A way too expensive dinner? Maybe even a concert or ballet? What gifts should I give? Well today’s infographic helped me out.

I’ve decided I’ll get her some vodka-infused chocolate lingerie. According to this graphic those are all hot-items on V-day and if I can find a combination of them all I’ll be the best date ever, right? But seriously, I still don’t know. Chocolates and flowers seem so over used, and who wants to support the generic celebration of a Hallmark holiday? The night’s gotta be bad ass – maybe race car driving or hanging out in a snake pit? Naw, not romantic, doubt she’d be into that…

Maybe we’ll just stay in and make a pillow fort and while sipping too many bottles of red wine. That sounds fun to me and if I go the chocolate route its gotta be that 90% cocoa stuff. Milk chocolate will melt your insides (fact). Well I’ve planned my Valentines, I hope she doesn’t read this post! [Via MyVoucherCodes]

Heart Disease [infographic]

Heart disease is on the rise ya’ll.  According to today’s infographic, it is the number one killer in the U.S., causing 36% of deaths each year. I’m sure it is because of an accumulation of numerous things, such as:  poor dietary choices, our sedentary lifestyle, and genetics. Today’s infographic provides an excellent overview of both the causes and preventatives of heart disease.

I know it’s not favorable, but a sure way to lower your risk of heart disease is to live a healthy lifestyle that includes healthy eating and regular exercise. Even small lifestyle changes, like taking the stairs or parking at the end of the parking lot, can positively impact your health. [via]
