Bill Murray [infographic]

Caddyshack, Stripes, Groundhog Day, and the Life Aquatic what do they all have in common? Besides being funny, some might even say iconic movies, they all star former Saturday Night Live cast member Bill Murray. A man who I learned from Reddit does not have an agent but rather a phone number you can call and leave a message pitching your movie.

I have always been a fan of Bill Murray’s work, but after doing some research for today’s post I am an even bigger fan of the man himself. Not only has he starred in big movies alongside Chevy Chase and Dan Akroyd but he also seems to love his fans. Not too long ago I read a story about a fan asking Mr. Murray for an autograph but because he considers autographs to be too impersonal he instead filmed a slow motion walk with the fan and his filmaker friends. You can see it here.

Other interesting stories I read included Bill Murray bar tending here in Austin during SXSW in 2010 and him randomly popping in on people singing karaoke, sitting down and joining them. For SXSW he stepped behind the bar of Shangri-La and no matter what anybody ordered just poured them an overflowing shot of tequila. According to the internet these are not isolated incidents. Apparently Bill just shows up in random places hangs out with his fans, participates in whatever they are doing, and bids farewell with a “no one will ever believe you.” If you don’t believe me Google it or check out this site. For those who caught the Transformers infographic last week, I stumbled across the Decepticons version here. In other Nerd news, the Motorola XOOM looks pretty freakin cool. However, I have a feeling this chart is going to look a lot different when the iPad 2 comes out. [via]

The Ear [infographic]

Super Bowl XLV has come and gone leaving the Green Packers the glorious victors. Today brings us a new work week and a new week of stresses, but we happily do it because at the end of each work week there is a weekend full of fun and friends. I would like to start today’s article with some exciting news, with all the views we have been getting around here we have decided that it’s time to start doing some things differently. No longer will our Facebook and Twitter pages just be infographic updates, but they will be a little more personal. We want to get to know all our fans and we want you all to know us.

Today’s infographic is on the ear, a body part we should need to be more careful with. Be afraid my friends, be very afraid, as more and more people get iPods or any sort of mp3 player there are more pairs of earbuds going into ears, and this is a cause for concern. This is not to say that you shouldn’t own one of the many marvelous items out on the market, just be aware of the volume you have your gadget set to. Too many of us just crank our music without thinking of what it could be doing to our ears.

If you are like me, you like loud music when you are working out. Unfortunately that is the worst thing you can do for your hearing. When we are working out and our heart rate increases, the hairs inside our ears stand up, leaving our ears extremely susceptible to absorb every beat coming from those earbuds. It is during this time that the most damage can be done. Remember that once your hearing goes, it will never come back. [via]
