Happy Monday to all of you, I am in a good mood this Monday. Not only is it Spring Break, but South by Southwest is going on all week, for an infographic on SXSW click here. Hopefully everyone is enjoying their Spring Break, for those of you who do not currently have the luxury you have my deepest sympathies. The clock has turned forward and a new week has started and with that I would like to share this jeopardy infographic. As most of you may know recently an IBM developed computer named Watson went on Jeopardy and won, quite the testament to how far we have come with our technology. The players Watson faced are featured on today’s infographic, Ken Jennings and Brad Rutter. Jennings holds the record for longest winning streak and Rutter has the most Jeopardy earnings. Hopefully you all enjoy today’s infographic and continue to have a pleasant week. [via]

Have you ever wondered what happens with all the data the internet holds? With the amount of data increasing constantly with no end in site, storage must continue to evolve. In today’s world we want everything in real-time, meaning it must be instantaneous. With the amount of data increasing so rapidly we can no longer wait until later to compress all of it. We must begin compressing data as soon as it becomes available. With real-time compression hard disk space is freed up as well as using less bandwidth. All in all with real-time compression we are able to keep storage evolving with our data and technology. Thanks to infographic world for providing today’s infographic. [via]

Death & Taxes [infographic]

Ever since I started working I have seen taxes taken out of my paychecks, but have never known where they go. Today’s infographic provides us with exactly that information. We provide the government with our tax dollars and expect for them to return it by providing services that help in our everyday activities. Such things include roads and education. Though recently education has come under much scrutiny, like many other things, we still trust that government to do what is best for us. However there is much more that the government uses our tax dollars for, many of the things we don’t even know about. However today’s infographic provides a very in depth look at what the government uses our tax dollars for. [via]

South by Southwest by the Numbers [infographic]

Congratulations! If you are reading this that means you have made it to hump day, and only have a couple more days until it is time for the weekend! Not only does this Friday mark the first day of Spring Break, at least for some of us, it is also the first day of South by Southwest here in Austin. SXSW is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year and it is sure to be a good one! This year is especially exciting because I finally get to see what all the hub bub is about. I have always only heard of the festival/conference, whatever you want to call it, but have never actually gone.

For those of you who have never heard of the festival, what was once simply a music festival has become so much more. Although it still remains a film festival, South by Southwest has taken on other traits such as a film festival and online business haven. As the infographic below shows you, the SXSW consists of nine days of industry conferences and films, six days of trade shows, and five nights of music. This being my first year I want to make sure that I am at everywhere I can possibly be. In order to be as prepared as possible I have gone over the schedule, which can be found here, over and over again. With talks ranging from marketing to the Hispanic community to “How the Government can learn from Amazon” this South by Southwest festival is sure to be a fun and interesting one. [via]

The Hectic Life of a Social Media Manager [infographic]

Before I have spring break I get to do a project for Marketing about being a social media manager. I already know quite a lot about the social media realm, but the amount of time constantly put into work as Social Media Manager is ridiculous. I could defiantly do it, it would be a hard lifestyle to get used to, but I can’t say that facebook and twitter aren’t fun.

I know some parents tell their kids that the amount of time they spend on facebook is a waste of time, but the child can just say they are training for work one day. Back when I only had video games, telling my parents I was going to be a professional gamer never got a good response. Social media marketing is a much more realistic profession. [Via]
