Do you know how much you drink? Often times, after a long night of drinking, you don’t realize how much you have consumed. Many people limit themselves to one drink, like beer or wine, in an attempt to not get drunk quickly. Today’s infographic sheds some light onto the actual alcohol consumption per drink.
The proper drink amount by type of alcohol is noted in the diagram of a solo cup. One serving of wine (5 ounces) will go a lot quicker than a serving of beer (12 ounces). Do you typically adhere to these measurements? I will definitely take this chart into consideration the next time I pour myself a glass of wine! [Via]

If you’ve ever been to a casino you know that they can be a very fun time, but that they can also leave your wallet considerably lighter than when you went in if you’re not careful. Knowing this, it should come as no surprise to learn that unlike many businesses in the U.S., American casinos are doing very well for the most part and project further growth between now and 2015.
Nevada casinos, tribal casinos and regional casinos are all expecting growth in the billions of dollars within the next three years according to today’s infographic from BusinessInsider.com. The only casinos that predict decline are those in Atlantic City.
For more information on the growth of casinos refer to the infographic below.

Internet by day, internet by night; everyone is on the internet at some point. Whether you’re a college student cramming for an exam with a Facebook study-break, or a middle-aged parent catching up on burning through some episodes of Lost, everyone’s got their own time of the day that they like to surf the world wide web. According to Bárd Edlund, as a whole, most of the internet is awake around 9 am EST. With this world clock he’s collected probability data for 25 countries accessing the internet at a given time of 24-hour day. The x axis describes the time of day by shade of gray (lighter being earlier in the day, and darker shades later in the night), while on the y axis shows the different countries via moon-like circles. The circle size describes the amount of people with internet broadband subscriptions.
This chart is only an rough guide though. Just because a country is awake doesn’t mean that they are necessarily online reading your tweets. It’s meant to be a way of thinking of how the world realizes their sleep schedules and how it could relate to internet surfing. So I guess it’s a good reason to have these posts available around 8 am after all. via

Just to make sure we over-saturate your day with the olympics, here is the winner of our Infographic Idea Contest! David L. Smith, CEO of Mediasmith out of San Francisco, submitted the idea to compare today’s games to the past. In partnership with Infographic World and SodaHead, we have compiled some of the most interesting facts about the biggest sporting event in history.
Along with the more than fifty games being played this summer in London, there is one you can participate in tonight: The 2012 Opening Ceremony Drinking Game. As a lazy college student lacking the drive, skill or ‘Phelps’ element as I like to call it, this may be the only event I participate in (although I do plan on taking home gold!)
Aside from drinking, the Olympic Games are epic. They have been around for a long time showing how physically superior the human body can be. Every athlete gives it her or his all. No one gives up until they cannot continue and that is why the games are so popular. I have watched so many different events with my family from cross country to boxing and every single one is entertaining.
The sense of country pride combined with the world coming together for a single event is one-of-a-kind. The politics are tossed away for a brief moment to focus on the athleticism of a country and not its background or history. Culture barriers are torn down and an atmosphere of friendship and brotherhood is created between competitors. These ideas keep the Olympics the world’s most anticipated sporting event and it will hold that position as long it can keep its reputation as an international haven.
