Computer users always have their preferred apps, products and brands, and most are fiercely loyal to said apps, products and brands. Take a look at the comments in the app store for an example of the fawning supporter and the enraged protestor. When I first got my Mac laptop (which now has a human name and is basically an extension of my arm), I spent hours researching the apps and products people use. Perhaps this analogy will only resonate with the Vogue-reading crowd out there, but it is the same idea as finding out what is in Natalie Portman’s make-up bag. If successful people swear by and application, I will probably hit “install” to see what the fuss is all about.

Today’s infographic takes you into the offices of 180 creative professionals to see what apps they have open. Small sample size notwithstanding, the results are educational. From word processing to storage to email– there are usually clear winners. I completely agree on Gmail, though I’ve never harbored much affection for Google Docs. What apps do you swear by and why?
