I’m not going to say that when I was a child I had an extreme phobia of bees. I’m not going to say that all flying things with stingers scared the crap out of me. I’m not going to say I may still be a little afraid of bees. I will say that bees are a vital part of our ecosystem and the way they have been unexplainably dying off is not healthy for Mother Nature.
I also love honey so let’s please save the bees! If you’re not petrified of these sweet things you should consider starting your own hive. I’ve heard that beekeeping can be a very inexpensive hobby. Less than $1000 and you can start two hives, sell the honey to your neighbors and at farmers markets. Long live the bees! [Via]
