The 10 Best Ways To Fall Asleep On A Plane

By | source:Here Jun 22nd, 2017

I was on a flight from Chicago to Fort Lauderdale a couple of weeks ago, and I was absolutely exhausted. I had no stretch room, so I got a bit desperate and slept on my tray table.

I wish I’d seen this infographic beforehand––I probably would’ve woken up slightly less sore. I was missing almost all of the things I needed for a comfortable nap on a plane: Noise-cancelling headphones, earplugs, a blanket and a music player. A sleeping mask is also recommended.  Ever if you just want to nap on a plane, it’s an ordeal.

It’s also a great idea to schedule an overnight flight, because you’ll likely be tired anyway.  Interestingly enough, booking your flight on the left side of the plane could also make your snoozing a bit more comfortable.

Funnily enough, my super-uncomfortable sleeping position from earlier this month made it on this graphic! They call it the headbanger, but I call it a headache. Regardless of your seat assignment, following these tips will make you a pro at catching a nap before your big adventure and waking up refreshed.

Sitting in one place for more than 12 hours isn’t comfortable for anyone, and falling asleep is easier said than done.  If fear of flying is also stopping you from traveling,  here’s an infographic to help with flying anxiety.
