Iâ??m a travel junkie. This past summer of 2013, I spent 3 months backpacking through Europe, going from London to Denmark, to Croatia- and pretty much everywhere in between. While on this epic trip, I discovered many things- the beauty and good nature of human beings, my own ability to achieve goals given the proper amount of determination and energy (and caffeine), and a nifty little app called Airbnb.
I first used Airbnb when I was in Copenhagen. I logged on and discovered a hip-looking apartment, reasonably priced for a 3 night stay. It was located near Copenhagenâ??s famous meatpacking district, which is literally a strip of warehouses formerly used for slaughtering and packing meat that is now home to some of the City of Spiresâ?? hottest nightclubs. It was as badass as it sounds. And for 3 days, I had the opportunity to pretend I lived in an amazing city in an apartment that felt like it could be my own.
This is the beauty of Airbnb- it provides an experience that is authentic yet private, and gives the traveler a small taste of what it might be like to live in a city theyâ??ve only ever dreamed about. And apparently, there have even been some guest/host marriage proposals- maybe youâ??ll meet your special someone. Who knows! Go travel, people! [Via]
