One of my dearest childhood friends just graduated with her BSN this past weekend at the tender age of 23. “How do you do it?” I would ask her, meaning the 4am wake up calls for rounds, endless science classes, and the cut throat nature of nursing school admissions in general. Her response was as gracious as can be with talks of wanting to help people and be the nurturing hand to help out in hectic hospitals. Aside from her softie response, she is actually one of the toughest women I know. Good thing too, word on the street is that nursing is one of the toughest professions to have; and this article only strengthens that belief.
Today’s infographic provides a surprisingly detailed account of an average day of a nurse. Aside from the sheer exhaustion of having to perform daily nursing duties, the typical nurse walks an average of 4 miles! Such an academically and physically challenging profession would deter most people from pursuing this degree, but thankfully, it seems that millennials are up for the challenge. Today’s infographic states that employed registered nurses are projected to grow 26% in 2020. If you’re looking for a secure job that offers an enriching experience, nursing seems like the way to go!
