I’m a breakfast fan and breakfast cereal just doesn’t do it for me. Given the choice of which meal to eat in a restaurant, breakfast would be the one I’d choose. It can be easy to fall into the rut of just grabbing a banana or smoothie for breakfast on the way to work, but there are so many better options! This infographic shows just how diverse the breakfasts are across the globe. It had me dreaming of a world breakfast tour where I could try out all these delicious meals.
I’m rather fond of a full English breakfast, but I’m just as happy with a pile of flapjacks with maple syrup. My first breakfast in a foreign land is probably the most disappointing I’ve ever had. On tour in London, we were offered a miserable croissant and yogurt to kick start our day. This disappointment was happily followed by huge buffet breakfasts in Holland and delicious assortments of bread, salmon, and sausages in Germany.
Italy disappointed with a meager breakfast of croissant and coffee but one of my favorites was the traditional muesli served in Switzerland, followed by crusty bread and cheese.
Next time I travel I may be tempted to design my itinerary around the most abundant and delicious breakfasts in the world.
