So first of all, I just found out from my roommate the other night that Michael Jackson would send the music he was writing to his label by singing all of the parts – check out acapella ‘Beat It‘. So awesome.
As most people know, MJ was not only an amazing singer but also an innovative and amazing dancer. If you don’t know this already, just look up the music videos for Beat It, Smooth Criminal, and Thriller on youtube. He really elevated the music video to a new level of awesomeness. This gif-infographic however focuses on his most infamous dance move of all – The moonwalk.
The steps sound easy – start with your left foot forward with your body-weight on the ball of your right foot, then you slide your left foot back and shift the weight to your other foot and repeat – but it will take a lot of practice.
What I love about this infographic is how it’s uses a gif layout to simply and elegantly show dance steps. I haven’t searched yet, but I’d love to see more infographics like this for more dances, music fundamentals, or even cooking. I think there’s a bright future for the gif-infographic.
