New year, new you, right? Yes, 2017 was a bit of a dumpster fire globally, politically, even socially some might say. But with a new year brings new opportunities, challenges and ways to grow.
And perhaps you woke up on January 1 feeling energised and ready to take on the world, one self-improvement task at a time, and you decided to begin with the gym. Physical exercise is key to having a healthier, happier life after all.
Plus, you know the gym, you understand the gym, there are no surprises at the gym; unless you go to a new one, obviously. But getting to the gym can be tricky, as this flow chart demonstrates. Sometimes our innermost desires are not completely matched up with our motivation to do the thing we need to do. Sometimes burning calories can be more of a chore than say, doing anything else. And sometimes procrastination just wins everything because it has had more practice.
Ultimately, it’s almost the end of January and your will to physically goto the gym is draining. You might even have found gym rats at the gym a little irritating because they actually seem genuinely happy about going to the gym. All you need is some excuses, so here they are. Maybe you can figure out how to work out at work instead.
