There are so many unspoken rules and regulations that you have to keep in mind when getting dressed for a wedding.
I don’t even want to think about the amount of stress I’ll feel while I pick out my own wedding dress, because I’ve had quite a few meltdowns while just getting ready to simply be a guest. I’m always aiming to reach the perfect fashion balance and follow all of the unofficial rules.
No white, obviously. But is cream okay? What about light pink? Black is elegant and flattering but does it serve straight funeral vibes? Will this floral print clash with her bouquet? I don’t want to look boring because I know the pictures will be everywhere, but I can’t even begin to think about overdressing for fear of “outdoing the bride” accusations. What is the difference between black tie and formal anyways? All of these questions and so many more swirl through my head when I get dressed for my friends’ big days, and I know I’m not the only one.
Moments like these are when I fantasize about someday having a personal stylist. But until I make it big, this graphic is such a handy tool. The decisions are made for you– simply pick the season of the wedding and see which colors you should wear based on your eye and hair color.
At the end of the day, it never matters what I’m wearing once I get there. All that matters is the tears that never cease to well up when I see two people so deeply in love. It’s always great to beat the pre-wedding anxieties before you get to the open bar, though, and this infographic is sure to help.
