As a student I realize that sleep is a luxury. During the school year there are so many things to keep up with and so little time. We want to be able to do everything. Get our work done, ace our tests, show commitment to our organizations and still go out for a good time.
It’s hard to make all that work when there are only 24 hours in the day. We are most likely to sacrifice our sleep so that we can feel like we are getting more done. I have adapted to getting about 4-5 hours every night during the semester. I and many others are in the same boat. To compensate naps are something that have become a part of my routine so that way I have more energy to jump back into things with more energy. Naps are hard to come by because a lot will say that they make the day harder to go through.
To avoid wasting time trying to go to bed, one needs to be relaxed and wanting to go to sleep. We all will tell ourselves that we are not tired yet and that we can keep going with our assignment or just watch one more episode. GO TO SLEEP when you know you should. That is advice I should take myself more often. Unwind with some cool music. Don’t drink or smoke. Maybe even take a bath before bed. You’ll figure out what works for you. Just go to bed! [via]
