If you have ever been a wrestling fan, then chances are that you probably recognize most of these bearded wrestling faces. From the unmistakable blonde beard hailed by the Hulk-a-maniacs of the 80’s and 90’s, to the Frog-Splashing, late great Eddie Gurrero and the hardcore Mick Foley. These beards have been the stuff of legends.
While they might not be that easy to grow out, beards do have some functional use, providing warmth, if not style. Beards seem to have an intimidation factor that these guys may have used to their advantage.
If you’re wondering what the heck the WWE is, it used to be called WWF before it got in a tussle with the World Wildlife Fund over use of the initials.
Not everyone on this list is around any longer, but the memory may sting a few. Mr. Fuji passed away last year and was best known for hurling salt into his opponent’s eyes to temporarily blind them.
Many of these wrestlers have been quite successful and sometimes downright crazy. Perhaps it’s better to remembered by the beard rather than a botched promo or weak victory.
Having a beard really changes the face doesn’t it?
