Mother’s Day has come again, and how many of you have already gotten something for that special lady? I know I have, and no, I’m not going to say what because she reads all my blog posts!
Mother’s Day is a time to appreciate your mom for everything she’s done for you – past and present. All those chicken noodle soups she made while you were sick. All the hugs, kisses, and love she provides when you’re feeling down. The fact that there is someone out there always thinking of you and rooting for you no matter what.
A mother brings so much joy, safety and love into a young child’s life. In the teenage years, a mother brings embarrassment, overbearingness, and consciousness. In adulthood, a mother’s worth becomes apparent again. All those little annoying rules and “because I said so’s” become happy, nostalgic memories. In adulthood, a mother becomes a best friend. She’s a shoulder to cry on and you realize she might need a shoulder sometimes, too. An equal.
Go celebrate your mother. On top of the usual flowers, chocolates and pastries mothers are used to receiving on their day, try to spend some quality time with them as well. Love you, mom.
