We all know at least one person who is freakily optimistic and happy all the time. I’ll admit it, I’m usually suspicious of ridiculously joyful people, but a lot of that is probably rooted in jealousy. Wouldn’t we all like to be a little bit happier?
There are a few things you can change today that’ll make for a happier, healthier 2017. First off, eat more fruits and veggies! Research has shown that eating eight portions of fruits or vegetables daily can have an effect on your happiness.
Limiting your social media time can also put a bit of pep in your step. Take a break from Facebook and Instagram and see what effect it has on your mood. Also, try going to sleep a little earlier. Adding one hour of sleep each night can make you feel happier and healthier.
Lastly, try giving more hugs. Hugging boosts levels of oxytocin, which is also known as the love hormone.
Whether it’s found through changing your diet or your Internet consumption, it’s clear that happiness isn’t is complicated as we may think. For more on how to be happy, read our post on 11 steps to happiness.
