Think about your favorite kind of cookie. Maybe it’s a melt-in-your-mouth chocolate chip masterpiece. I personally can’t get enough of Oreos.
It turns out that us Oreo lovers are in good company. Sandwich cookies are the most loved cookie across the U.S., with more than one in four states opting for these even in Christmas cookie season.
Next up, we’ve got butter cookies. Think of those Christmas-themed tins filled with different sweets. If that’s a favorite of yours, you fall into this category. These are fan favorites in California, Colorado, Delaware and more.
In third place, chocolate chip reigns. About 16% of states love these yummy deserts, including Massachusetts, Nebraska and Nevada.
While you may think of a cookie as a dietary splurge, it doesn’t have to be. Eight states opt for better-for-you cookies, which include sugar-free, high fiber, gluten-free, and reduced-fat treats. This infographic is based on data collected right around the holidays, so this could be because of New Year’s resolutions.
There is one cookie that this infographic leaves out: Girl Scout Cookies. I can’t get enough of those Thin Mints. If you’re in the same boat, you have to look at our post that shares the business behind the cookie madness.
