I’ve been out of college for two years, and I still have the same re-occuring nightmare: I show up to class without studying for a huge exam and end up failing miserably. That dream was my reality a couple of times in school.
I wish I’d had this guide to studying (our British friends call it revision) when I was in school. There are some neat memory tricks, like using a whiteboard to physically write down all the things you need to remember.
Another tip I hadn’t considered before is to bribe yourself to finish important readings. Munch on a piece of dark chocolate after each chapter to help improve blood flow to the brain and get a little bit of a sugar rush.
As important as it is to have a perfect Instagram feed, social media is a huge blow to successful studying. Get rid of distractions by turning off your phone –– try studying with friends if you need some sort of social interaction (just make sure you stay on topic).
