I can still remember the first time I saw a mobile phone in person. I was on a lunch break in downtown Dallas passing by an office building and this guy in suit walked out talking on the phone. I have to say I was impressed and thinking I will never have enough money to own one. Little did I know how fast the technological advances were coming our way. I never did own the first version of a mobile phone but all the rest of the versions I did own.
The first phone was so large and heavy that it was called the brick. Then phone started to get smaller and smaller. I have had generic phones, slider phones, razors, flip phone, blackberries, and dumb phones. Everything changed when the smart phones came onto the market. Now the phones are starting to get bigger. The screens are getting bigger and of course more things to do on a smart phone. Sooner or later it will the size of a small tablet.
Mobile phones are longer a luxury but a necessity in today’s society. This infographic shows the trend of phone sizes in plain terms. No showy graphic or a lot of data but a simple picture of mobile phones over the years. One can wonder how much phones will change or adapt in the coming years.
