Thirty years ago it would probably be hard to imagine the explosion and success that superhero movies are having today across the world. Superhero movies were still popular and fairly frequent back then, but today they have become one of the most popular and collectively highest-grossing film genres of all time. With all of the advances we’ve made (and continue to make) in entertainment technology, these fantastic stories are finally starting to be able to come to life the way they were truly, originally imagined.
Today’s infographic from Business2Community gives us a look at some of the most-anticipated big-budget superhero movies slated to release within the next few years. In May we have Robert Downey Jr. donning his famous suit and becoming Tony Stark (a.k.a. Iron Man) once again for the third installment in the Iron Man franchise, and from everything seen so far it looks to be Stark’s most challenging adventure yet. As for The Avengers, there is good news and bad news. The good news: Joss Whedon is set to take the helm again with everyone’s favorite band of mismatched superheroes with The Avengers 2, but the bad news is that we’re going to have to wait another two years for that one.
